Absolutely horrid that a person would only get a single year for such a cruel and inhumane act as this. If that had been a person someone would have been seeking the death penalty. In many states a simple drug possession charge or even DUI arrests could cost you a severe fine and more jail time. That the heck is wrong with out court systems?
